Oracle VM Server* 2.2.1 - Intel® Server System SR1640TH
The Oracle VM Server* SDK Template provides an environment for third party drivers to be built for the Oracle VM server 2.2.1 or 2.1.5. Oracle VM offers scalable, low-cost server virtualization. Both Linux* and Windows* guests are supported. Consisting of Xen* open source server software and an integrated Web browser-based management console, Oracle VM provides an easy-to-use graphical interface for creating and managing virtual server pools, running on x86 and x86-64-based systems, across an enterprise. Users can create and manage Virtual Machines (VMs) that exist on the same physical server but behave like independent physical servers. Each virtual machine created with Oracle VM has its own virtual CPUs, network interfaces, storage and operating system. With Oracle VM, users have an easy-to-use browser-based tool for creating, cloning, sharing, configuring, booting and migrating VMs.
The Intel® Server System SR1640TH is a differentiated, high-density 1U system supporting four independent Intel® Xeon® processor 3400 series with four DIMMs per node for a total of four processors and sixteen DIMMS. The system is designed with optimized cable routing, optimized cooling, two energy efficient power supplies, and up to four 3.5” SATA HDDs. This performance optimized system is ideal as a hosting server, web server, or for small businesses with space and cost sensitive applications.
