Parallels Virtuozzo Containers* 4.5 for Windows Server* 2003 and Windows Server 2008, powered by the Intel® Server System SR1670HV, is an operating system virtualization solution that harnesses the full power of an IT infrastructure by increasing the utilization of existing servers by 2X–3X over hypervisor solutions. This solution delivers higher utilization of existing servers and cost savings in maintenance, energy costs, and the potential elimination of new server expenditures. Virtualization at the host operating system provides a lean, efficient virtualization layer that enables higher density ratios of virtual servers to physical servers along with complete isolation between workloads.

The Intel® Server System SR1640TH is a differentiated, high-density 1U system supporting four independent Intel® Xeon® processor 3400 series with four DIMMs per node for a total of four processors and sixteen DIMMS. The system is designed with optimized cable routing, optimized cooling, two energy efficient power supplies, and up to four 3.5” SATA HDDs. This performance optimized system is ideal as a hosting server, web server, or for small businesses with space and cost sensitive applications.
