StackIQ Rocks+* 5.3 Intel® Cluster Ready on Red Hat* Enterprise Linux 5.4 - Intel® Server Board S5520UR

This Intel® ESAA recipe describes the steps required to build an Intel® Cluster Ready HPC cluster using StackIQ Rocks+* 5.3 with Red Hat* Enterprise Linux 5.4 on the Intel® Server Board S5520UR - from hardware assembly through performance testing and cluster application development. It includes various options for hardware design, interconnects, management, BIOS and OS provisioning, job schedulers, cluster tools and cluster application development packages and runtime environments. It also includes instructions for Intel® Cluster Ready Pass-Through Certification.

Optimized for high performance computing, the feature rich Intel® Server Board S5520UR is a high-performance, rack-optimized server board designed for energy efficiency with a variety of expansion modules for added flexibility. Optimized for high performance computing in-rack form factor, the feature rich Intel® Server Board S5520UR offers support for up to two Intel® Xeon® processors 5500 or 5600 series, 12 DDR3 memory DIMMs, bridge-board connector supporting Midplane2 with SAS HW RAID, and custom PCI Express* x8 connector for optional Intel® I/O Expansion Modules. Specific S5520UR boards with the integrated Trusted Platform Module (TPM) will support the latest in virtualization security via Intel® Trusted Execution Technology (Intel® TXT).
