FalconStor Network Storage Server* - Intel® Server System SR2600UR

FalconStor Network Storage Server (NSS)* appliances deliver self-protecting, plug-and-play iSCSI and Fibre Channel (FC) SAN primary storage for small/medium businesses (SMB) and remote offices (ROBO). NSS appliances include virtualization and provisioning for easy management and use. Thin provisioning and capacity-on-demand capabilities help automate storage resource allocation and capacity management while virtualization provides centralized management for heterogeneous storage environments. This recipe highlights the key features of the FalconStor NSS solution. There are two different methods for managing NSS. The first method is a simplified method for plug-and-play operation using FalconStor SAN Disk Manager*. The second method offers the ability to utilize many of the advanced features available with NSS through the FalconStor Management Console*. This document provides step-by-step procedures to guide the user through these key features using both methods.

The Intel® Server System SR2600UR is a rack optimized, highly integrated server system for high density and energy efficient applications. For high-end data center applications, virtualization platforms, or as a video server, the Intel® Server System SR2600UR features up to five expansion slots, six 3.5” drive bays, multiple I/O options, and redundant cooling, all in a 2U rack mount chassis.
